DKI Jakarta Provincial Government warmly welcomed the arrival of 10 foreign journalists from nine countries in Eastern Europe. The 10 journalists will follow the program Journalist Visit Programme (JVP) which was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs every year. The journalist admitted that he first came to Indonesia, especially Jakarta. Although the first time, they admitted amazed and delighted with the development of the city.


When visiting the City Hall of Jakarta, the 10th foreign journalist was received Deputy Governor of Tourism and Culture, Jakarta Aurora Tambunan. In that meeting, Aurora presents the advantages of
Jakarta, such as culinary tourism, tourism, museums, Old Town, East Flood Canal, and so forth. Also presented are also the problems faced by the city of Jakarta and to this solution is still sought. The issues that are flooding, traffic congestion, urbanization, health and other welfare issues.

All journalists were very enthusiastic to listen to the exposure of Jakarta. In fact, they admit that they love to get to know the Jakarta and will be introduced to residents in their respective countries through writing.

Furthermore, Aurora hopes, this Eastern European journalists can bring the good name of Jakarta and to promote culture and tourism in this city to their respective countries. "That way, Jakarta is known to the Eastern Europe. Of course, expected to be a lot of Eastern European citizens traveling to Jakarta soon," he said at City Hall, Friday (07/30/2010).

Committee Chairman JVP in 2010 from Kemenlu RI, Sam Marentek, said that the participants will visit Indonesia in 2010 JVP began July 29 until August 7, 2010. They come from nine countries, namely Russia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, and Hungary. While in Indonesia, they will visit three major cities, namely Jakarta (July 29-August 2), Ambon (2-4 August), and Bali (August 4 to 7).

In Jakarta, the participants JVP will visit the 2010 National Monument (Monas), the museums in Jakarta, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and enjoy a variety of unique culinary Jakarta. After that, they will follow the activities of Sail to Ambon and Banda continued to Bali.

Sam explains, journalists from Eastern Europe is very interested in travel to Indonesia because this region is a new area that needs to work on the introduction of tourism, culture, and the potential that exists in Indonesia.
